U8 Hurling

Shamrocks were scheduled to play Passage on Friday night in Shanbally but unfortunately, due to circumstances outside our control,  the game didnt take place.   It was disappointing for all the players, parents and mentors who turned up. However, with 24 Shamrocks players ready and willing, the mentors Seamus O’Flynn, Anthony Meighan and Tim Hayes … Read more

U8 Hurling – 8/9

The under 8 hurlers went up to Douglas on last Saturday morning and on what was a beautiful morning, played an excellent hour of hurling against the home side. On this particular occasion, Shamrocks only had 11 players (the only negative) and with Douglas having big numbers, it was decided to split Douglas into 3 … Read more

U11 Hurling V Passage – 7/9

Shamrocks and Passage played a very worthwhile challenge game in Shanbally on Friday evening last. While we wouldnt have the biggest numbers at this age group, we had 15 players togged out on the night so that was a positive. Passage won the game handy in the end; from a Shamrocks point of view, its … Read more

MFL V Aghinagh – 23/8

Aghinagh 5-18, Shamrocks 1-6   A very frustrating and humbling night for underage football in the club. Shamrocks played 2 matches this week, beating Crosshaven on Monday night 2-11 to 4-3 in the league before making the trip to Dripsey on Wednesday to play the home team in the championship and were well beaten on a scoreline of 3-13 to 0-5.   Hopefully reports on both to follow.

Junior A Hurling Championship – 14/8

Ballymartle 4-16, Shamrocks 0-12   Shamrocks were dumped out of the championship by Ballymartle’s second team last Tuesday night.   Apart from Joe Shanahans first half free taking which was excellent (mostly frees created by himself) and a 10 minute burst in the second half that yielded an unanswered 4 points, Shamrocks were destroyed. The lads … Read more

Junior A Football League – 3/8

Shamrocks 3-10, Tracton 0-17   Shamrocks had a deserved 2 point win over Tracton on a perfect sod in Minane Bridge on Friday night last.   With the same two teams meeting in the Championship Semi Final on August 21st, it was a chance for both teams to do a little bit of experimenting and … Read more

Munster Club Development Program – 1/8

Noel Crowley (filling in for Martin Coleman GDA) took the under 10 hurlers through their paces on Wednesday night last.   Our thanks to Noel and to the underage coaches (also from the Ladies Football) who turned up to observe. The next session will be with Martin Coleman and will involve the coaches actually taking … Read more
