Some more great games were played by our U6/8 & U10 in their “Go Games” League against Ballyphehane on the Tramore Road.  These girls are going from strength to strength and will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.  Well done also to the coaches and their “apprentices” who step in on the day.  Keep it going ladies!!!

Junior v Ibane Gaels – 27/06/21

Our Junior were at home again this week against Ibane Gaels.  The Ladies took some great scores but with Ibane sending a few extra over the bar they came out on top.  We’ll keep going and are getting stronger by the day.

U16 v Ballygarvan – 24/06/21

The U16’s put up a great display of football against Ballygarvan on a lovely Thursday evening in Shanbally.  Even though the result did not go our way Shamrocks played with great team spirit throughout the game.  Unfortunately due to injuries we had 16 players including some u14’s, but as luck would have it another injury was to unfold just before the first water break.  Again our u14’s stepped up and did not let us down.  Keep it going girls!!  Also, wishing our injured girls a speedy recovery.

U12 V Ballinhassig – 14/06/21

Next up are our U12’s who played Ballinhassig at home in Shanbally.  The girls played an outstanding match coming out as victors.  Well done to the coaches and the players – keep up the good work.

It was the turn of our U14s to get back out on the pitch.  They played Passage in Passage but unfortunately the result did not go our way against the strong home side.  First match out – we’ll dust ourselves off and get right back out there.

*** Important ***

Shamrocks Club Covid Supervisor.

The GAA Covid-19 Advisory Group have issued an initial guidance document entitled “Guidelines on Safe Return to Gaelic Games”. This document can be viewed on our website (www.shamrocksgaa.com) under the News tab directly above the Facebook column. It outlines a set of critical recommendations that would allow a safe resumption of activities within the Club. One of the main recommendations is a requirement for each Club to appoint a Club Covid Supervisor whilst the pandemic virus is impacting our ability to resume fitness training and games activities.

It is envisaged that each team in the Club will have a nominated person (Team Covid Officer) with whose main responsibility will be to ensure adherence to the recommended Covid-19 Sanitisation Protocols after each training session or game.

The main duties of the Club Covid Supervisor will include;
(a) Facilitate the distribution and collating of players and backroom members Health Questionnaire’s before training sessions and games. (A copy of the questionnaire is Appendix 1 of the above referenced document).
(b) Ensuring sanitising of facilities is completed by each Team Covid Officer before and after each training session or game.(c) Maintaining records of attendees.

An online Gaelic Games education module will be provided to assist in understanding both the purpose and role of this important function.

The Club would like to receive expressions of interest, before Friday June 19th., from any individuals willing to undertake this task for the next few months.

Please contact any member of the Adult, Ladies or Juvenile Committees if you are willing to assist in the operation of this important task that will facilitate the resumption of training and games activities within our Club.

Shamrocks Ladies Club continues to support and update all on LGFA updates.
The safety and health of all our members will always be of paramount importance and we will continue to strive to provide a safe environment for all our members.
As per below mail from the LGFA, a Road Map for the return to activities will be clearer in the month of June.

Below latest announcement from the LGFA HQ regarding Injury Fund and update on future return to activities within the LGFA.

********************************************************************
A chara,

Following reports that some LGFA groups intend hiring or using facilities (private and public open spaces) outside of GAA grounds to commence training in small groups when Phase 2 of the Covid-19 restrictions commence on the 8th June, the Management Committee of Central Council has suspended the LGFA Injury Fund with immediate effect from today 22nd May 2020.

This will be the situation until such time that training and playing activity are sanctioned for return by the LGFA.

All GAA training and playing facilities are closed until the 20th July.

Should an individual sustain an injury and incur medical costs while taking part in an on-line training session or an individual training program from 22nd May, the individual will be personally responsible for all such costs.

The GAA Public Liability Insurance stands suspended until July 20th.

Return to Train & Return to Play protocols are currently being drawn up by the GAA Covid -19 Advisory group and will be circulated when completed and agreed in June.

In the meantime we are urging all members to stay vigilant and to stay safe. Central to every decision made is the health and safety of our members and their families.

** Ladies U16 Update **
After 7 competitive league games our Shamrocks U16 ladies topped their league table leaving them with a semi final place scheduled for the end of August.  This also qualifies the girls for County Championship football later in the summer, which is a great achievement for this bunch of girls.  Now we take a break for the Junior Cert exams and all other in house school exams.
Best of luck to all.

Training continues every Thursday at 7pm and in preparation of the games, will increase to 2 sessions a week when all are back fully after the exams.  There will also be plenty of challenge games scheduled to keep this team well in tune for the semi finals and County Championships.
Plenty of football for the summer!

*********************************************************************

It was a disappointing end to the Ladies U14 league campaign this afternoon in Donoughmore.
The Shamrocks girls travelled to Donoughmore needing a win but were beaten by a well balanced Donoughmore side.  Unfortunately this now leaves the girls out of contention for a semi final place.  Plenty of football still to come for our U14’s over the summer months and the rest of the season.

*********************************************************************

Well done to our U10 Shamrocks girls who were playing a challenge game this morning 12/5/‘19 in Bishopstown.  A very enjoyable morning of football was had by all and some great skill was displayed by the Shamrocks girls.  Next game for U10’s is a mini blitz in Carrigaline tomorrow evening at 6pm.

*********************************************************************

Well done to all of the Shamrocks ladies coaches who completed the LGFA Fundamental course yesterday, 11/5/‘19, hosted by Shamrocks Ladies Football Club in Glanmire Community College.

It was a well run, constructive and informative course tutored by the LGFA.

Thanks to all who helped in organizing the event and to Glanmire Ladies Football and Glanmire Community College for the use of their facilities.  Thanks to all for making the day a great success.

*********************************************************************

*********************************************************************

Well done but unlucky to both our Shamrocks U16 ladies and U12 ladies in their league games today 28-4-’19.

Our Shamrocks U16 girls narrowly lost by a single point today away against Passage West in R6 of the league.  Leading the game throughout, the Shamrocks U16 girls were unlucky not to close out the game at various stages but in the end lost out by a single point.  Preparations continue for our next league game.

Our U12 girls had a tough encounter against Ballinhassig today at home in Shanbally.  Great persistence and determination shown by all the U12 Shamrocks girls today.

Well done to both teams

Well done to our Shamrocks Junior Ladies who were unlucky in their first Championship game this evening against Cobh.  A great team performance by all, great defending, great attack play.
The scoreline most definitely didn’t reflect the game as our Shamrocks ladies were unlucky not to convert more scores.  Good play, skill and determination by all of our Shamrocks ladies.
Well done again!

Hard luck but well done to our Shamrocks U14 girls who gave a great account of themselves this evening, 17/6/‘18, in the final of their Mid Cork league.  The Shamrocks girls played very well and were unlucky not to be more in-contention.  Some great performances from our girls who fought hard throughout the game and outplayed Macroom in large spells of the game.
Unfortunately the score line didn’t reflect this.  Well done girls.

Also a big thanks to all the coaches and mentors for their hard work and time.  Thanks to all the parents for supporting their girls and the club and everyone who has helped in various ways to bring the girls to this stage.

Much more success to come!

U14

Shamrocks 6-10 -v- 3-4 Passage (11.30am 10/06/18) – Mid Cork League Semi Final

Our u14 girls had a fantastic win at home to Passage on Sunday morning.  We started strong racking up some points but came to a stand still.  Sides were level at half time but the girls knew they had it in them to take the win in this match.

We went 6 points down at the start of the second half until such time the girls put the ball in the back of the net.  This gave the girls a new lease of life and got 3 fast goals putting them well on top.  With Shamrocks back in control they came out deserved winners booking themselves a place in the Mid Cork League Final.  Na Seamróga abú!!!

Well done to our Shamrocks U14 ladies on another good win this evening against Ballinora at home in Shanbally.

This was a good competitive game with both teams battling hard to gain advantage.  The Shamrocks girls played well overall, especially in the second half and had plenty of chances to claim victory but the scores just didn’t materialise for the girls.  It was late in the second half that the Shamrocks girls finally secured a few good scores and claimed the win in the end.
Well done girls!

********************************************************************

U14

Shamrocks -v- Dripsey (7.30pm 29/05/18)

U16

Ballincollig -v- Shamrocks (7pm 26/04/18)

Semi-Final day has arrived!!!

Well done and hard luck to our Shamrocks U16 ladies this evening in their semi final against Ballincollig.  From the start our Shamrocks ladies came out determined and ready for a tough game.  After some great battles on the field, both sides could not be separated at half time, leveling the game 2-1 to Ballincollig’s 7 points.

The second half started well for the Shamrocks girls with a few good scores but half way through the half Ballincollig started to get a grip on the game and started picking off a few scores, pushing them into the lead.  Unfortunately our Shamrocks girls could not respond and although they fought hard, they just couldn’t contain the Ballincollig girls, losing by 6 points in the end.  End of this league for the girls but preparation already planned for our other leagues later in the season.

A Big Thank You also to all our coaches who committed their time, efforts and experience nurturing this team, week in week out.  Also to all the parents for their continued support.
Na Seamróga Abú.

*********************************************************************

U12

Shamrocks -v- Ballincollig (7pm 24/04/18)

Another busy evening yesterday with our Shamrocks U12 girls starting off their league campaign with their first game at home against Ballincollig.  Unfortunately, Ballincollig on this occasion were the stronger of the two teams but this Shamrocks team are a young and developing team with great potential throughout.  Positives will be taken from the game and areas of improvement will be worked on.  Many more games to come!

*********************************************************************

Junior

Cobh – Shamrocks (7.30pm 19/04/18)

Well done and hard luck to our Shamrocks Junior ladies this evening in their league game against Cobh.  Much experience was gained this evening with good performances shown all round.  All of our ladies showed good potential and with more gameplay will improve as we continue through the season.  Work in progress.  Keep up the good work.

*********************************************************************

U14

Macroom -v- Shamrocks (7pm 19/04/18)

Hard luck to our Shamrocks U14 ladies who lost this evening against Macroom.
This was the Shamrocks girls first lose of the season in the league.  With games now half way through the league our Shamrocks ladies are still well placed and within the top two in the league.  Only points/goal difference separating them.
A bit of a break before our next game, time to regroup and get back to winning ways.

*********************************************************************

U16

Shamrocks 4-10 -v- 0-7 Ballinhassig (6.30pm 14/04/18)

Shamrocks U16 ladies played against Ballinhassig on Saturday evening.  Our girls had a very good game displaying how a team can perform playing fantastic football throughout the pitch.  The girls are now through to the Semi-final of the Mid Cork League which is scheduled for next Sunday.

*********************************************************************

Junior Ladies

Shamrocks -v- Bishopstown (7pm 29/03/18)

Our Junior team played a challenge game against Bishopstown on Thursday evening.  Despite the bitter cold on the night the ladies gave it holly!!  There was some fantastic performances throughout the match and the improvement they are showing in only three games is phenomenal.

Keep up the hard work ladies and ye will certainly be a force to be reckoned with!!

*********************************************************************

U16

Dripsey 1-0 -v- 9-21 Shamrocks (6.30pm 30/03/18)

This was a must win game for our U16’s and boy did they go out gunning for the win.  Dripsey didn’t get a chance throughout the game as Shamrocks girls were hungry for the win.  From start to finish the girls gave it their all, picking off points from unbelievable angels and with a couple of girls hitting hat-tricks into the back of the net, there was no way Dripsey were ever going to come back at them.  Our u16’s are getting stronger with each and every match they play bearing in mind that the majority of them will still be u16 next year (and some for 2 years after that!).

*********************************************************************

U14

St. Finbarrs 5-6 -v- 8-13 Shamrocks (6.30pm 28/03/18)

The U14 ladies are 3 for 3 having beaten St. Finbarr’s last night in what was a historical night for the Barr’s with their first underage ladies football team playing their first game.  Our girls were quick out of the blocks and to be fair the game was over in the first half.  Shamrocks made some changes throughout the second half giving some of our younger girls a run out.  Overall our ladies played well, working together with some nice finishes at the end of the run.  Keep up the great work girls!!!

*********************************************************************

U14

St. Michael’s 6-5 -v- 8-11 Shamrocks (12noon – 11/03/18)

Our U14 ladies continued their winning ways with a great win over St. Michael’s on Mother’s Day in what was a very high scoring game.  Although, they were trailing by 2 points at half time, the girls came out all guns a blazing in the second half.  Goals were being pumped in and some fantastic points were taken from very acute angles.  They came out deserved winners in an excellent second half match.

*********************************************************************

U16

Shamrocks 6-10 -v- 7-6 Grenagh (12noon – 25/02/18)

Our U16 ladies were very unlucky on a cold Sunday (25th February) morning at home to Grenagh.  The girls were slow to start off but fought very hard and had a fantastic second half.  Scores were tit for tat through out the games with Shamrocks leading by 2 points with minutes to go.  Alas, a free was given in the last seconds which Grenagh converted into a goal.  It was very  disappointing for the girls who gave it their all again as always to lose by 1 single point.  But this will not keep these girls down as they will be back training on Tuesday evening in the Maritime College 7.30pm!!

*********************************************************************

U14

Shamrocks 2-8 -v- 2-5 Passage (11:30am – 18/02/18)

Sunday 18th marked to beginning of the U14 League at home in Shanbally to Passage.  Having got some great scores and very tricky angles, there were places we could have thrown it away.  Shamrocks came out victorious and now that the cobwebs are now blown away and we are ready for our next outing and eager to show what we are made of!!!

U16

Ballincollig -v- Shamrocks (7pm – 11/02/18)

Our u16 Ladies began their 2018 League on Sunday 11th under lights away to Ballincollig.  The very young side put up a great fight in what can only be described as a very wintery night.  Unfortunately as many of our u16’s were unavailable on the night we had to call on nine of our u14 girls to fill the panel.  The girls fought hard in the snow and sleet that belted down on top of them.  The first half was very one sided but Shamrocks came out fighting in the second half and put a few scores on the board.  Well done to all the girls!!

Half time at u16 v Ballincollig 11/02/18

Well done to the U11 Shamrocks girls who played well in a strongly contested challenge game away to Ballygarvan this evening.

It was great to see so many new players available on the night and for some of them it was their first competitive game with Shamrocks.

Again our seasoned players stepped up to the mark on the night with some good overall play and improved support and interplay among them.

As the aim of all challenge games, much experience was gained by all this evening.
Again well done to all.

Shamrocks 3-5
Grenagh 2-3
Congratulations and well done to the Shamrocks U11 girls who beat Grenagh this afternoon to claim the title of “U11 ladies Mid Cork Champions!”.

The Shamrocks girls had to dig deep once again to claim the spoils on the day.
The Shamrocks girls were leading at half time by six points but the Grenagh girls came out fighting in the second half with numerous unanswered scores.

It was the last ten minutes that turned in Shamrocks favour when the girls after been 2 points down scored a goal and a point in quick succession to lead by 2 points. Then to top it off Shamrocks hammered another goal home to finish the contest and win by 5 points in the end.

Well done to all the players and coaches on a fine display of football and passion.

This was the first competitive game in a while for a lot of the U15 girls and it certainly knocked the cobwebs off for them.

The older girls on the team played well on the night while the younger members of the panel certainly showed that they can mix it with the more seasoned players as well.
It was a good strong physical game which will bring on the girls and make them stronger as a team.

What a game of football this evening in Shanbally!

A big well done to the Shamrocks U13 girls who beat Macroom in the semi final of the Mid Cork league this evening in Shanbally.

Shamrocks 4-2
Macroom 2-6
It was a hard fought game and the Shamrocks girls had to dig deep to pull this game back in their favour.
Down at half time the girls had a lot to do, but do it they did.

The second half was a different game when the Shamrocks girls started to build up a bit of confidence and began to put the passes together.

Hard fought tackles started to come into play and then all it took was a score or two and game on again.
In the end it was the last kick of the game that was the decider. With the girls one point down Shamrocks had to score with the last free kick of the game and score they did, in the back of the net. Winners by two points.

Well done girls, well deserved.

Roll on the final!

A gallant effort by the girls in green tonight who lost away to Ballygarvan in the Mid Cork ladies semi-final.
Shamrocks 2-2, Ballygarvan 2-7.

The Shamrocks girls played well on the night and were again unlucky to be on the losing side with many chances to claw back the score deficit or even take the game.

Again there was plenty of determination and grit from the girls on the night and all should be proud of themselves and the efforts they put in.

Great day had by all of the Shamrocks girls and boys today in the glorious sunshine in Shanbally at the Shamrocks Multi-Sports camp.

There were over 70 kids at the camp, all enjoying the day’s activities and the after camp food and entertainment.
Special guests on the day were Cork Ladies Senior football captain Ciara O Sullivan, goalkeeper Martina O Brien and forward Aine Hayes accompanied by the Ladies All Ireland Brendan Martin Cup.
A big thanks must go to these three girls who took time out of their busy schedules to come down to Shamrocks and spend time giving our young players solid advice and posing for so many photos. Thanks ladies from Shamrocks.
Thanks also goes to all the volunteers who helped out on the day, too many to mention, but especially our teenage girls, Brona Cotter for her fantastic face painting, Frank Van Pelt for the photographs and all the others who made it possible behind the scenes.

Thanks to all the parents who signed up and supported the event and encouraged their kids to the camp.
Well done to the kids themselves for getting involved and l hope all had a great day.

Well done to the U12 Shamrocks girls who played and performed with determination tonight against Ballygarvan in the Mid Cork League.

Winning at half time the girls once again were unlucky to come out on the losing side after the full time whistle was blown.

After saying that the Ballygarvan girls with many of their girls on the age, just finished the game stronger on the night.
One more league game to go!
Keep the flag flying.

Well done and hard luck to the our U12 girls who played Grenagh away this evening.
Big improvements were visible all round and great effort was put in by all of the 16 girls who played on the night.
Our defence once again played well and some good scores from our forwards left the Shamrocks girls only a point down at half time.

Grenagh then scored two soft goals in the second half which they build upon and from there on they pulled away.
Positives most definitely can be taken from the game and worked upon to strengthen and improve this team.

Well done and hard luck to the U14 girls who had a hard fought game against Ballygarvan tonight in Shanbally.

The Shamrocks girls were unlucky at times during the game and didn’t get the rub of the green tonight when numerous shots at goal were stopped on the line or narrowly went wide.
One or two scores early in the second half could of chanced the whole outcome of the game but it wasn’t to be on the night.

All girls must be commended on their efforts and most definitely everything was left on the pitch and all tanks were emptied with their performance.

Some great talent within the club and game after game improvements can be seen from all the girls!
Well done again to all!

The Shamrocks U12 girls had a good run out this evening away to Ballyphehane in a well contested challenge game.
The Shamrocks girls had a very strong first half leading at halftime but began to tire later in the game which allowed

Ballyphehane to gain more possession which they were able to convert into a few easy scores.

Overall it was a good performance by the Shamrocks girls with some good defending and good positive forward play.

Hopefully this will lay the foundation to a good Mid Cork League.

NO Mouthguard? NO Game!

Reminder for all players and parents of players.
Texts will be sent out again to remind all players/parents about the below.

Officially from the LGFA

Ladies Gaelic Football Association Introduce Mouthguard Rule

From January 1st, 2014 it will become mandatory for all players in all age grades up to and including minor to wear mouthguards in all practice sessions and games. It will become the responsibility of each player to ensure that they are wearing mouthguards as failure to comply will result in the player being sent from the field until they satisfy the rules.

The new rule has been introduced to protect players from damage to their mouths and teeth which can have serious effects in their development. It is hoped, that with the introduction of the new rules, that the incidents of injuries to the mouth and teeth will be significantly reduced. If players do suffer an injury to the mouth or teeth they will not be covered for that injury as part of the LGFA Injury Fund.

Every player, regardless of the age grade that they play in, that is a minor or younger must wear the mouthguard when taking part in Ladies Gaelic football matches or training, this will include schools, colleges and when a player of minor grade or lower is playing for adult teams.

KEY POINTS
Ladies gaelic footballers in all age grades up to and including minor level must wear a mouthguard from January 1st 2014

It is the responsibility of each individual player to use a mouthguard

Players will be ordered off in a game for not wearing a mouthguard and will remain off the pitch until the situation is ratified

Players will not be covered under the Injury Fund if they don’t comply with the mouthguard rule.

Hard luck to the U14 Shamrocks ladies who were beaten tonight by Ballyphehane in the Mid Cork Summer league.

It was a tough game but much experience was gained by all players, keeping in mind that we still have a very young squad.

Special thanks must go to the players and the parents of the players who just after arriving home from holidays made the exceptional effort to ensure that they were available for the game tonight.
Well done to all girls.

Ladies U12 Mid Cork League

The Shamrocks U12 girls competed well last night against a strong physical Ballgarvan side in a well contested game in Shanbally. The Shamrocks girls played well overall and had very good spells of possession especially the latter part of the first half. The Ballygarvan girls were strong and racked up some fine scores but the Shamrocks girls responded well with some fine scores of their own and some great defending, chasing and overall play.

Goals were the difference and the decider on the night. Ballygarvan hit the net six times compared to our two although the Shamrocks girls had a higher score ratio, 12 scores to 11.(Shamrocks 2-10 to Ballygarvan 6-5).
Improvements are visible game after game and with continued efforts from all players this team still has the potential to do well in the league.

The next League game will be next Tuesday evening the 2nd of June at home to Carrigaline.
Lets continue our strong performances.
Well done girls!

U12 Ladies Mid Cork League

The U12 girls were very unlucky tonight as they were narrowly beaten in a close encounter by Nemo Rangers. The rub of the green did not go with the Shamrocks girls tonight whereby many scores were squandered and most definitely decisions did not go their way. There were many chances for the girls to level the game and in some cases go ahead but it was not to be for them on the night. The girls will have to pick themselves up from the disappointment of losing only by a point on the night, (Shamrocks 1-3, Nemo Rangers 1-4 ) and focus on their next league game scheduled for next Tuesday away to Ballygarvan.

It was also positive to see such a great player turnout which gave us a full twenty players on the night. Each player played their part and contributed to the team overall.
Well done girls.

U14 Ladies Mid Cork League

Well done to the U14 girls who had a tough encounter against Ballyphehane today in the Ladies Mid Cork League. The Shamrocks girls played well but the girls from Ballyphehane were just too strong. Although this was their last league game of the season there will be plenty of games organised for this team throughout the summer months.
Shamrocks ladies club would like to thank all the U14 players for their commitment throughout the league and a thanks to all the parents of the players for their support.
Shamrocks ladies club would also like to thank all the U14 coaches, mentors and committee members for their commitment to the girls over the last few months and their time organising matches, pitches, referees, training and everything else that goes with their roles.
Well done girls.

Shamrocks Ladies – U12 Mid Cork League

Firstly a huge thanks to all the players and parents for making the journey to Grenagh yesterday evening and bearing the elements in an evening of fierce wind and rain.
The Shamrocks U12 girls had a great win against Grenagh yesterday evening in their first league game of the season. There was a great player turnout and this made for a strong Shamrocks team who battled hard on the day in horrendous weather conditions to overcome Grenagh and win by seven points in the end. (Shamrocks 8.8 V Grenagh 7.4)
Again there was some outstanding play by the Shamrocks girls throughout the game and their determination and grit in poor weather conditions reaped the rewards coming home with the points from the game. Going forward the aim for each of the girls now will be to improve on yesterdays performance and help to ensure that they do well in the league. Again the great turnout of players shows that with a full strong team and panel of players, this U12 team can do well in the league.
Well done girls.

Shamrocks Ladies U12

The U12 girls had a good run out against our neighbours Ballygarvan in a well contested challenge game this evening in Shanbally. The Shamrocks ladies played well overall and were able to stay the pace with Ballygarvan, with some great defending and scoring alike, even with the fact that eight of the team are still in the U10 grade.

Again there was some great individual performances on the night but you could see that the whole team combined well and are improving with every game.
After saying that there is always room for improvements and the mentors will be putting each player through their paces at training to unsure that the girls will play to their full potential throughout the up and coming league.

The next league game will be roughly in a weeks time away to Grenagh, so ensure all girls are at training and preparing for the league.

Well done to the girls U14 team who played Carrigaline today in a well contested game in Shanbally. The Shamrocks girls had very good spells of possession and teamed up well to gain many scores throughout the game especially in the second half. Although the Shamrocks team was made up of many young players, it was the older girls that lead by example and showed the opposition what they were capable of, with great defending and scoring alike. Carrigaline were victorious in the end but a well done must be given to the whole team for their continuous efforts throughout the game.
Improvements are visible, game after game.
Well done girls.

The U14 Shamrocks Ladies had a tough encounter with Douglas this morning in Shanbally in their third league game of the season. Shamrocks had reduced numbers so the game started in a sporting manner with 11 aside. Douglas were strong and dominated the first half with some fine team play and strong scoring. The Shamrocks Ladies nevertheless came out in the second half and dug deep to give an excellent performance and show the potential that is within the team. There was some great individual performances but what showed greatly was the determination each player gave considering this is such a young and developing team. Well done to some of the younger players who stepped up to the plate and gave it their all. Douglas were triumphant in the end but the girls can come away from the game with confidence that with hard work from all the players, especially at training, this developing team can become successful in the future.

Well done to the U14 girls who had a great run out in the Mid Cork league today against Macroom in very tough conditions. Although Shamrocks had a full team of 15 players, Macroom were only able to field 9 players so the game was played in a sporting manner with 9 aside. Macroom had a strong nine player squad and put it up to the Shamrocks girls. It was a tough game and much experience was gained. Although in the end Shamrocks lost the game we still gained the league points as Macroom could not field the required number of players.
Well done again girls.
Maith sibh, gach duine.

Under 14 Ladies

Our u14’s started their league campaign this morning losing to a very strong St. Michael’s team.  Unfortunately, we had to play without a full strength team, having to play some of our u12 team.  Shamrocks are a very young side developmental side.  The girls showed great heart and spirit throughout the game never dropping the heads.  Each girl played her heart out.

We continue next Sunday at home in Shanbally against Macroom.  Please show your support for this young side.
