MFL V Whitescross – 29/3

Shamrocks 1-7, Whitescross 0-5

The Minor Footballers had a hard fought win over Whitescross in Shanbally on Saturday afternoon last. Underfoot conditions were tricky with the heavy drizzle making ball handling and keeping upright difficult. However, the Shamrocks players did just enought to grind out the win.

Nathan Hayes got the Shamrocks goal in the first half and they led 1-4 to 0-3 at halftime. Shamrocks survived a battling second half from Whitescross who tried all they could to close the gap but some great defending from Shamrocks limited their scoring chances, while up front David Andrews kicked a few vital points to keep Shamrocks ahead. Thats 4 from 4 now for the footballers. Hurling next week.
