Shamrocks 2-12, Aghinagh 3-5
The under 16 footballers started their season on Saturday afternoon in a place called Rusheen, which is the home of Aghinagh GAA Club. It was a successful trip to Mid Cork as the boys came out on top of a good home team, winning by 2-12 to 3-5 after a good tough game.
Shamrocks led 2-6 to 2-3 at halftime and pushed on with 0-9 in the second half to win by 4 points in the end. Michael Dorney and Shane O’Flynn were among Shamrocks best players on the day.
