Shamrocks 3-11, Nemo Rangers 3-6
An important win for the U16 hurlers on Monday night, beating Nemo Rangers by 3-11 to 3-6 in the final Round Robin game in Shanbally.
Nemo Rangers led 2-5 to 1-5 at halftime, Shamrocks could have been closer or even ahead as Nemo pounched for 2-1 in three minutes in the lead up to halftime after Shamrocks had done most of the hurling. However, turning to play with the wind advantage, the players were confident they could turn it around.
Certainly, Shamrocks made the wind advantage pay in the second half with an assured, mature performance to run out deserved winners by 5 points
Monday nights results mean that Shamrocks, Nemo Rangers and Tracton all finish on 4 points in the table with only 2 to go through to the championship semi finals proper. The board will draw one to go through with the remaining two teams to play off.
