Shamrocks 5-6, Ballygarvan 1-2
Shamrocks won the Mid South Grouop 4 football league on Saturday in Shanbally after a hard fought win over Ballygarvan. The Shamrocks win was built on goals that were scored early in both halves, 3 in the first 15 minutes of the game and 2 in the first 10 minutes of the second half. They were in control for most of the game but found Ballygarvan to break down and they dug in and fought bravely to the very end, finishing with some nice scores of their own.
But the day belonged to the Shamrocks lads. It was a wonderful team performance with some brilliant displays all over the pitch. Well done to the players, coaches and parents. There was a big support on hand as well as John Herlihy presented the trophy to Shamrocks captain, Aaron Sisk, on behalf of Rebel Óg who were missing in action.
