The Shamrocks Golf Classic was held in Monkstown Golf Club on Monday September 16th. The course was in perfect nick indeed and on this occasion, it was blessed with glorious continental sunshine all day long. Scoring was sub par on course and everyone was treated to a meal afterwards. There were 28 team in total.
The winners received their prizes afterwards in The Shamrock Bar, who sponsored all the prizes and they were as follows:
First Prize: Gary Hayes, Gavin Boland, James Hayes.
Second: Mark Hickey, John Joe Shanahan and Pat O’Sullivan (formely of Castlefarm, Ringaskiddy)
Third: The House of Coolmore, led by Paddy O’Sullivan, with Cathal Collins and Mervin Rice.
Fourth Price: WiseTech team of Tom Triggs, Daniel O’Leary and Sean Dwyer.
Non GUI Winners: Brian Sweeney (Todds), Ronan O’Connor, Kieran Byrne.
Special thanks to Alan Geary and Seanán Collins who organised the whole event and to Diarmuid Murphy who was “on site” all day coordinating at the course.
An extremely successful day for the club.
