Shamrocks led the whole way except at the most important part – the final whistle, as Valley Rovers scored an injury time winner.
Shamrocks led 1-8 to 0-4 after 20 minutes and 1-9 to 0-6 at halftime. They did well to maintain that 7 point lead up until 17 minutes from the end, leading 1-13 to 0-9.At this point things were looking good for Shamrocks, however Valley Rovers took over completely, the Shamrocks scores dried up and Rovers outscored Shamrocks by 0-9 to 0-1 in the remainder of the game.
Shamrocks are now out of the hurling championship with one game to go
