JAFL V Valley Rovers – 23/6

Valley Rovers 3-18, Shamrocks 0-7

Not a good day at the office for Shamrocks in their last league game before championship. The game was over after 15 minutes as Valleys led 1-7 to 0-2 and they were attacking at will and opening up Shamrocks at all angles. They pushed on and led 2-10 to 0-4 at HT.

A depleted Shamrocks did improve somewhat after the break but in reality, this was 60 minutes of shooting practice for the Valleys team

Lots of work ahead before championship starts in July – against the exact same team!!! Its been a mixed campaign for the footballers so far with some nice wins but this week has been depressing with 2 hammerings.

Not many positives from a sobering display on Sunday – Stephen Hurley in goal was outstanding and only for him it would have been 7 or 8; Johnny Tuohy and Gary Ronayne made some nice interceptions at times; the ever dependable Mark Hitchmough scored some wonderful points from play; nobody got injured and the sun was shining

JAFL V Valley Rovers, 23/6/24. Back row, l to r: S. Collins, S. Andrews, C. Collins, M. Hitchmough, A. McCarthy, F. Herlihy, C. O’Flaherty, D. Barry. Front: S. Downey, K. Maye, C. O’Donovan, C. Hayes, G. Ronayne, C. Caffrey, S. Hurley, J. Tuohy

Hitchy kicks a great score
