Ó Murchús 0-12, Tracton 1-7
Ó Murchús finished up their round robin hurling league campaign with a close two point win in Minane in what can only be descrided as monsoon conditions. You wouldnt have put your dog out in it.
Tracton led early on but O’Murchú settled into it and had a 0-7 to 0-4 lead at halftime thanks to points mainly from Ruairc Sisk and Cian Lynch.
The first 15 minutes of the second hal;f featured only one score, a point for Tracton but Ó Murchús extended their lead out to 0-12 to 0-6 by the 24 minute. Tracton scored a goal with 4 minutes left to give O’Murchús a nervous last few minutes but they held on in the lashing rain.
With Kinsale beating Aghabullogue on Saturday, it meant that Ó Murchús actually didnt need a result here but a win is the way to go as they look forward to a final proper against Kinsale, a team they beat by a single point back in August in a thriller.
Scorers were R. Sisk with 0-5 (0-3 frees), C. Lynch with 0-4 (0-2 from frees), Barry O’Mahony with a long range free, Eoghan O’Sullivan and Josh Bartlett.
