DÓMs U17 FC V Grenagh – 6/9

Grenagh 5-7, Ó Murchús 2-16

Ó Murchús probably should have won this exciting game of D1 football on Wednesday evening. A draw might not be enough for them to qualify for a shield playoff.

Ó Murchús led by 2-7 to 0-6 at halftime and seemed in a strong position. However, on this occasion, Grenagh came storming back and drew level by the mid point of the second half after striking for 3 quick goals. Ó Murchús responded by leading by 3 points entering injury time but Grenagh struck for an equalising goal with almost the last kick of the game.

Cian Lynch for Ó Murchús scored 0-10, of which 0-9 came from play and he was the standout player on the night. Other scorers were Shay Murphy (1-2), Sam Foy (1-0), David Herlihy (0-2) and Josh Bartlett (0-2)

Next game is hurling next week away to Ballygarvan
