DÓM U17 HC V Kinsale – 2/8

Ó Murchús 4-17. Kinsale 3-19

A one point win for Ó Murchús in Shanbally in what can only be described as an extraordinary game of hurling. Both teams had big leads at different stages yet it came down to one solitary point out of 57 in the end.

After Kinsale opened the scoring with a quick point, Ó Murchús raced into a 0-10 to 0-1 lead after 13 minutes but Kinsale began to find their feet, took over and clawed the score back to 0-12 to 1-8 at halftime, Ó Murchús ahead.

The second half saw the exact flipside of that.

After Ó Murchús opened the scoring with a quick point, Kinsale raced into a 3-15 to 0-14 lead after 13 minutes of the second half and looked all over the victors. However, Ó Muchús began to find their feet just like Kinsale did in the first, they took took over and finished like a train, with a remarkable tally of 4-5 in the final quarter to win by that solitary score.

A magnificent comeback, well done to the players and management. They have 4 more games to come in this round robin; this was a good start.

Scores – Ruairc Sisk 3-8, Cian Lynch 0-4, Shay Murphy 1-1, Josh Bartlett 0-2, Sam Foy 0-1, Barry O’Mahony 0-1, Senan Buckley 0-1
