Shamrocks 8-9, Sliabh Rua 4-6
Well done to the U15 footballers who beat Sliabh Rua in the second round of the FC in Shanbally on Monday evening, winning a scorefest by 8-9 to 4-6 with an impressive second half display.
Shamrocks led 3-6 to 2-5 at HT with goals from Calum O’Neill, Luke Jordan & Ollie O’Brien who played very well on the wing. Donal Herlihy was also on the scoresheet from play before he had to go off injured just before HT.
They went for the kill in the second half and some lovely moves led to further goals from Luke Jordan again, Liam Dorney, Seán Óg Ó Loinsigh among others to put the game to bed well before the end. The team put some nice moves together at times and played good football. Sliabh Rua as always were tough to crack and played well as well but the goals were the difference.
