Brian Dillons 2-14, Shamrocks 1-7
The Shamrocks lads were game all night against a physically bigger and stronger Dillons team in Shanball on Monday night. They never stood off them and played their best football in the first half at which stage Dillons led 1-5 to 0-6. In the second half, the physicality began to pay off around the middle for Dillons and they got a grip on proceedings there. The scores began to flow a bit and they raced away to win, despite a Daniel Collins goal for Shamrocks. The keeper and the backs in particular played tehir part in an enjoyable game.
This was Shamrocks first game of the season and they will improve for the experience
