U13 HL V Sliabh Rua – 22/8

Shamrocks 3-16, Sliabh Rua 3-13

Well done to the u13 hurlers who beat Sliabh Rua in their final league game on Monday night in Shanbally on a scoreline of 3-16 to 3-13 after a very exciting hour of hurling.
Shamrocks were behind for the entire game and had to play catch up. Sliabh Rua got 2 early goals to give themselves a boost but Shamrocks kept in touch. At HT, Sliabh Rua were 3 points ahead.

The second half was very exciting with Sliabh Rua maintaining their 3 point lead as the teams entered the last 10  minutes.

After a flurry of points, Shamrocks only moved ahead for the first time inside the last 7 minutes and hung on until the end against a very good Sliabh Rua team.

This now guarantees the team a place in the hurling final sometime in September.

Of course they have the football final to play this coming Saturday.
