Tracton 0-26, Shamrocks 3-9
The U15 hurlers were beaten by Tracton in the Shield semi final on Saturday in Shanbally. They played great hurling up until the 2nd water break and were right in the game; the scoreline at that time was 0-19 to 3-9 with Shamrocks right in with a shout of pulling off the win; In particular their 2nd and 3rd quarter display was full of heart and skill after Tracton had threathened to run away with the game early on.
However, Tracton pressed the fast forward button in the fi nal quarter and fired over 5 points in 6 minutes to stretch out and win the game by 8 points which was harsh on the Shamrocks lads.
It was a very encouraging performance from Shamrocks and the mentors were very proud of them; they have shown improvement throughout the year in hurling.
