Tracton 4-9, Shamrocks 3-8
Shamrocks lost to Tracton in the Shield Semi Final in Minane Bridge on Sunday evening. This was the 4th loss to this Tracton team this year and this was a tough one to take. Shamrocks were in command at 10 points up with HT one minute away but in the next 7 minutes either side of the break, Tracton scored 3-1 to wipe out the commanding lead. Up to that point, Shamrocks were the better team with some superb football and scores from the likes of Cian Lynch, Sam Jordan, Donal Herlihy and Sam Jordan.
They led 2-7 to 0-3 approaching the halftime break but then gave away that 3-1 in quick time. The momentum was with Tracton after this, they went 7 points up at the 2nd water break and held on, despite a heroic Shamrocks effort in the final 10 minutes that only yielded 1-1 with the goal coming from the penalty spot from captain Josh Bartlett.
