Shamrocks 4-21, Crosshaven 1-7
This was Shamrocks first time having junior B hurling team on the field of play since 2009 and it was great to see such a buzz on the line with a big turnout of players making themselves available for selection. It was a nice mix of young and old throughout the team. Shamrocks ran out comfortable winners on a lovely evening for hurling.
Players togged – Seán Kidney, Cillian Hayes, Darragh Scriven, Tom Murphy, Shane Downey, David Barry, Fergus O’Neill, James Lynam, Josh Hanlon, Jamie O’Driscoll, Mike O’Neill (keeper), Mark Sisk, Johnny Tuohy, Senan Andrews, Jack Wilson, Ruairí Meighan, Adam McSweeney, Brian ‘Todds’ Sweeney
Belgooly 1-15, Shamrocks 0-15
There was another great turnout verses Belgooly in Shanbally on July 13th. A perfect night for hurling. It was a great game of hurling. Shamrocks were the better team in the first half and played their best hurling in that time, they scored some great points from play and led 0-10 to 1-6 at HT.
All the nine subs got a run out in the second half and naturally this disrupted things a bit as Belgooly took over and finished the stronger, winning by a goal in the end. Its great to see so many hurlers willing to put on the jersey again at adult and bodes well going forward.
