U12 FL Final V Kilmurry – 19/9

Kilmurry 4-6, Shamrocks 1-4

Despite a great team effort Shamrocks fell short at the final hurdle in a highly competitive league shield final. Playing against a team that had 12 players on the age Shamrocks dug deep and held their own for long periods of the game.

Despite trailing by 5 points at halftime Shamrocks started strongly in the second half and reduced the deficit to 2 points with 15 minutes to play. Going toe to toe with a big physical team hope remained high going into the final throws of the game. However 2 quick goals allowed Kilmurry to pull away and it was a lead that they never looked like surrendering.

A great league campaign from Shamrocks ended disappointingly with their one and only defeat. Special praise must go to each and everyone one of these lads as they gave everything they had from day 1 and their day in the sun will arrive at some stage.
