Eddie Forde R.I.P.
We received the sad news of the death of Eddie Forde in Dublin and late of Ringaskiddy. Eddie was a former hurler and footballer with the Club. He was an outstanding under age player and played in the club’s first ever under 14 Hurling South East Final against St. Patrick’s Upton in 1960 when Ger. Coveney was in charge. He won a South East under 21 football medal with Shamrocks in 1967. He played Intermediate Hurling and Junior Football with the Club and played football with his Alma Mater Colaiste Criost Ri.
He was a member of an old Ringaskiddy Family who ran Forde’s Pub ( now The FBI). His brother Michael was a member of the Shamrock Junior Hurling side that won the S.E. title in 1959. He was predeceased by his other brother Denis.
