U21 Football Championship 3rd Round, played Sat 29th Feb in Minane Bridge 4.15pm
RESULT: Diarmaid O’Murchu’s 1-7; Ballinhassig 1-10
At windswept Minane yesterday, the amalgamation of Shamrocks and Crosshaven put up a spirited battle against a hardy Ballinhassig team who just about deserved their win. It was a very close game all through and could have gone our way with a bit of luck. We had the bare numbers, 16, and were missing some of our important players from both Shamrocks and Crosshaven. We had much more potential , but as everyone knows, getting that on the pitch is the challenge.
We, in Shamrocks would like to thank the Crosshaven mentors, particularly Ronan Cogan and John Middleton, and others for their passion and commitment. Well done too ,to the Crosshaven lads who showed up, and ye were a credit to your village and your Club.
I would like to thank Dick Andrews and Kieran Lynam for their support. Stalwarts! Seán, and Harry Andrews, Cillian Hayes, Dylan O’Flaherty got all of our scores; well done lads! Ruarai Mehigan enjoyed his first run-out this season. James Lynam and Dylan Gregson played in the previous round but were unavailable yesterday. I would like to thank all these lads sincerely as great representatives of Shamrocks Club.
Is mise, Liam O Seanacháin ,u21 co-ordinator/selector and Runai CLG Na Seamroga.
