Diarmuid Ó Murchú’s 3-11. Cobh B 1-9
A satisfactory end to the season for the 16s hurlers of Ó Murchú’s in Crosshaven on Saturday afternoon. They had a well deserved win over a Cobh team that played right up to the end. It was a good game to play in and win, in particular at this time of the year.
Ó Murchu’s scored 2 goals midway through the first half and this gave them a nice cushion. They led 2-8 to 0-4 at halftime. Despite not scoring for the first 10 minutes of the second half, they responded to the Cobh points at the start of the second half with a few scores of their own to run out deserving winners.
Afterwards, the captain Adam Power accepted the trophy from the chairman of the Mid/South board Martin Lynch, thereby becoming the first player from Ó Murchús to lift any silverware.
