St Vincents 1-12, Shamrocks 1-6
St Vincents took the league points in Shanbally on a lovely Monday evening. They deserved their victory as 5they played excellent football with one player less after a sending off. Shamrocks just couldnt get a foodhold on the game and when they did work it in to scoring postition, they missed many chances to add to their tally.
Vincents were never led – they started brightly with the breeze and led 0-6 to 0-3 at HT. Shamrocks kept dropping ball into the goalkeepers hands, the kicks were just lacking in power. Vincents added a goal and stretched out their lead before Shamrocks responded at the other end. HT 1-6 to 1-4 for Vincents.
Shamrocks never got going in the second half; Vincents scored a brace of points after HT and Shamrocks were unable to claw it back. After this game, Vincents top the table with Shamrocks second and they could meet in a final before the year is out.
