U12 FL Semi V Tracton – 7/10

Shamrocks 6-12, Tracton 2-4

We played Tracton on Sunday morning in Shanbally in the semi final of the U12 football. Tracton had beaten us already earlier in the competition so we were well aware of the task ahead of us. We stated very strong and had 2-03 on the board before Tracton registered their first score. A quick 1-02 from Tracton had them back in it but again we got some great scores to leave a bit of daylight between the teams but 1-01 from Tracton just at the short whistle had us leading on a score line of 3-05 to 2-03. All the words of encouragement at half time was heeded as we pulled away with some quick fire scores in the first ten minutes of the second period to leave the game over as a contest. The final score being 6-12 to 2-04. All our panel got valuable game time. This was a fantastic team performance and everyone contributed hugely to this game. Now it’s on to the Final against Whitescross next weekend. It was great to see a large crowd of supporters present from both sides.

On behalf of the team we would like to wish our captain Sam Foy a very speedy recovery from his recent illness. The jersey is washed and ironed ready for him to put on for the final.
