Shamrocks 3-11, Dillons 1-6
Shamrocks travelled to Whitescross to play Brian Dillions on a damp Monday evening. Both teams started brightly and it was evident from an early stage why both teams are going well in the league. Some fine points were scored by both teams as we started to enjoy a spell of great pressure on their goal. We soon got our reward with a fine Evan Twomey goal to put some daylight between the teams. Just after the break a Cathal O Donovan goal had us well in control. A great flowing move from one end of the pitch to the other resulted in a peach of a goal from Luke Jordan. Some excellent points from Dara McCormack and Cian Lynch left us comfortable winners at the end. This leaves us in a good position as we play our last two league games next week.
Josh Bartlett made some vital saves in goal for us. The full back line of Calum Gregson, Nigel kearney/O Sullivan and Shane O Mahony were in top form and in control throughout. Outside them in the half back line was Barry O Mahony, Kieran and Noah. These trio was the strongest line in the pitch. The Midfield pairing of Dara McCormack and Evan Browne were always in control. Our half forward line of David Herlihy, Cathal O Donovan and Ewan Clarke were a constant threat and got some great scores. Inside forward line was Luke, Cian and Evan Twomey. All our subs got game time. Conor Coleman, Zach Johnson, Donal Herlihy, Harry O’Leary Shane O Flynn, Seamus O Mahony and Owen Forde played their part when the entered the fray. Next up is Ballinhassig at home on Mon 17th and Macroom away on Sun 23rd.
