U14 HL V Cloughduv – 1/6

Cloughduv 7-13,  Shamrocks 1-8

A vast gulf in standards were evident this morning in Shanbally. One wonders what good this did our opponents as they are clearly located in the wrong section. Cloughduv has big numbers and more importantly some very fine hurlers who would, in my opinion, hold their own in “A” or Premier for that matter.

Nevertheless, our lads did their best to compete. I would contend that we had as much possession in the first half but found scoring difficult. We were blocked , hooked and physically out-muscled whilst in good scoring positions on a number of occasions. To the great credit to our lads, they kept going to the end and I’m sure better results will follow once we meet our match again. Due to holidays, injury and low numbers, we did not have any substitutes, so well done to all the lads for playing the full hour. Thanks to all for turning up to support.

Panel – Sam Foy, Aiden Brady, Barry O’Mahony, Derry Howard, Fionn Herlihy, Dara McCormick, Michael Foy, John Coleman, Cian Lynch, Eoin O’Flynn, Cathal O’Donovan, Conor Coleman, Josh Bartlett.
