Pairc Ui Chaoimh hosted Saturday morning’s Monster Football Blitz. Over 170 Football Teams were registered to play at this magnificent venue during the day,
Huge credit to Colm Crowley, Paudie O’Brien, Sean Crowley et al for running an event of this size without a hitch. In fairness the players, mentors and supporters made life a bit easier for them by complying with their instructions during the day.
The blitz was played on the outer all weather pitch and the surface was immaculate. Shamrocks had 14 mighty men with them and were able to enter two teams. Grandparents, parents, relatives and friends were able to view proceedings from the elevated viewing area which added to the atmosphere. We played great football during the morning taking on the likes of Diarmuid O’Mathuna’s from West Cork, Whitescross, Courcey Rovers and Castletownroche from North Cork. Victories were recorded against all.
This was a thank you to all the players who had turned out for us during what has been a hugely satisfying and enjoyable season. Thank you to all our supporters for their encouragement during the morning and indeed during the season. This was our last U8 Football Blitz of the year.
