Shamrocks 5-17, Ibane Gaels B 4-6
Shamrocks are into the semi final of the B2 West Champiomship after a good performance against Ibanes 2nd team on Monday night in Kinsale. The lead up to the game had been disrupted for various reasons but the lads produced a great second half in particular to move on to the next round.
Shamrocks scored 2 early goals and led 2-1 to 0-2 after 13 minutes. However, Ibane Gaels settled into the game and started to get more scores and put the Shamrocks backs under pressure. Both teams were scoring at a high rate now and by halftime, the score was 2-8 to 2-4 for Shamrocks with lots of hard work ahead.
Shamrocks got a good start to the second half playing down the hill and stretched out their lead and were comfortable. They added a few good points and 2 goals while Ibane at the other end were only able to score a goal. They fought hard but this was Shamrocks night and they fully deserved their win at the end. It was a great team performance with everyone playing their part and the committment and attitude was spot on.
