JBFL V Carrigaline – 14/9

Shamrocks 1-8, Carrigaline 0-9

Throughout, this keenly contested League tie played in Shanbally was very close with Shamrocks defending a narrow  lead for most of the game. Both teams were guilty of wasting many scoring chances. The most important score of the game was a second half goal from an excellently taken penalty shot by David O’Sullivan. It gave Shamrocks some succour when Carrigaline were playing their best football.

Shamrocks were ahead 0-5 to 0-2 at halftime and were never led at any time in the game. Dave O’Neill kicked some smashing points and it was good to see Terence O’Sullivan back in the Club colours too. Coby was unrelenting in his play with our full backs and keeper denying the opposition some certain scores. Well done to all the lads and on duty, they collected two vital league points.
