Shamrocks 1-8, Carrigaline 0-9
This was a good win for the home side over league leaders Carrigaline on Thursday evening in Shanbally. Shamrocks led 0-5 to 0-2 at Ht after having played with the aid of the breeze and could have been further ahead but for some wayward shooting and hitting the post twice.
Carrigalien came back into it in the second half but a David O’Sullivan penalty proved decisive and Shamrocks held on for the win which sets them up for the league playoffs. Well done to the management and to all 18 players who played – a very healthy number considering all the A championship games played recently.
