St Patricks 10-9, Shamrocks 4-11
Shamrocks were well beaten in this semi-final played in Shanbally last Wednesday evening. They were very flat all through and this may have been as a result of our exertions from the evening before. No excuses though – Shamrocks were outplayed, out-muscled and ultimately outscored by the West Cork combination (4 clubs) Shamrocks were very disappointed of course as we has finished the regular season unbeaten and top of the league.The lads showed commendable spirit as we never gave up and hit a score that would win most matches comfortably. But let’s not despair, we have Championship coming up and with some serious training, I’m sure Shamrocks can finish the season on a high. Numbers are tight and recruitment of players is a top priority.
Again, we had a great support on the night – thanks to all! Best wishes to John & Adam Mc who didn’t finish the game through injury. Special thanks to Dick, Pa & Jed for their great work during the season to date.
