Shamrocks 4-11, Laochra Óg 5-8
A brilliant and exciting game of hurling on Friday evening in Shanbally ended all square. Both team are to be complimented on the fine arts of hurling in a game that was played in a constant downpour and driving rain. Shamrocks had the bare 13 yet again (getting tiresome at this stage) and had half our u12 team out but once again they rose to the occasion and platyed their hearts out all through.
Shamrocks had a goal scored early on before Laochra Óg (a combination of 4 clubs around the Macroom direction) got 2 goals at the other end. It was very close all the way to halftime after Shamrocks grew into the game and finished the half the strongger team. At HT it was Laochra Óg 2-5, Shamrocks 1-8.
The rain continued in the second half and for the 15 minutes after HT, Shamrocks played their best hurling of the season so far, racing into an 8 point lead. However, Laochra Óg never gave up and their dangerous centre forward scored 2 goals to level up the game in injury time. A further 2 minutes didnt produce a winner. Well done to all players on a great game.
