Shamrocks 6-9, Whitescross 3-3
Horrible weather conditions did not impact on our trip to Whites Cross last evening. We had a full turn out of players and great credit is due to them. We were flat again for the first half of this match, gifting the opposition 3 poor goals. We again had the lions share of the possession but did not use it wisely. We were behind 3-3 to 2-1 at the break.
A few home truths were aired at half time and in fairness the lads knew that they had let themselves down. We were a completely different team in the second half. We played with the elements and blew the opposition away. You will note that Whites Cross did not score in the second half such was our dominance. Our leaders showed the way and the younger lads followed in what was a very good second half display. Our thanks to Whites Cross for hosting us.
Big shout out to parents, grandparents and friends for turning up on a damp evening – the weather actually improved as the game wore on. Next U12 fixture is next Monday – home football match v Cill na Martra.
