U10 FL V Donoughmore – 28/5

The Under 10 footballers had an early start on Sunday morning as we made our way to Donoughmore to play in the latest round of the football league. We were missing a few of our regular players but still managed to assemble a squad of 14 for the 11 o clock fixture.
Having had a very successful run in both hurling and football to date we were hoping for continued good form in this game. Unfortunately it was not to be the case on the day as our brave lads went down to a physically stronger and much bigger opposition. Credit where it is due, Donoughmore were the better team on the day and they’d have to be a good side to beat the Shamrocks under 10’s.

We can be proud of the fact that the Shamrock lads never gave up or dropped their heads and played right to the final whistle. We can also take comfort in the fact that a number of the boys that played on Sunday are eligible to play under 10 again next year and the match practice they’re getting at this grade will stand them in good stead. We’ll move on from this game and look forward to the coming fixtures. Well done to the under 10’s who as always did their club proud.
