Shamrocks 6-17, Ballygarvan 1-18
A wide open and high scoring game went the way of the home side on Monday evening. Ballygarvan settled quicker with 3 early points with the aid of the breeze but Shamrocks struck for 3 goals at the other end – 2 from Darrahgh O’Sullivan and another from Stephen O’Neill. Ballygarvan would not go away and battled back and stayed in touch at the break, 3-6 t0 1-8 for Shamrocks.
The second half was similar. Shamrocks couldnt put Ballygarvan away until the very end when they scored 2 quick goals. Prior to this, Shamrocks hed opened up a 10 point gap with some nice points from Seanán Collins and Darragh Scriven. Ballygarvan plugged away playing up into the top goal before Shamrocks late spurt of goals from O’Neill and Chris Hayes finished out the night.
