Tracton 6-7, Shamrocks 4-5
We traveled to Minane Bridge to take on Tracton in the U16 B1 football league. Again due to lack of numbers we had to rely on some of our U14s to help us out to full fill the fixture. The game started well for us and we were three points to the good after the early exchanges. Tracton the got on the score sheet with two points play and the opened up a bit of daylight between the teams when they scored two quick fire goals. We responded well and got a goal and a point before the half time whistle.
Both teams got early scores in the second half but Tracton then started to open up our very young defence and were finding scores a lot easier to come by than our forwards. To the lads credit they never gave up and two late scores put some credibility on the score board. We lost on a score line of 6-07 to 4-05. Great credit must go to our U14 stars who helped us out namely, Harry Andrews, Mark Sisk, Adam McSweeney, and Daniel O Brien. A warm welcome also to Brian O’Leary who made his debut for us and showed some great skill and determination over the sixty minutes.
