U12 FL V Lisgoold – 29/4

Shamrocks 3-13, Lisgoold 1-1

Shamrocks chalked up their 3rd win in a row following this encounter at Shanbally on Saturday afternoon. Shamrocks had 18 lads togged out and all got plenty of game time.

Unlike recent matches, they started well and took early scores to settle down. Lisgoold tried hard but found scores difficult to come by, mainly due to the diligence of the Shamrocks backs who performed well as a unit. The midfield pairing of Michael & Dara gave great supply of ball to the forwards who to be fair had a high enough conversation rate.Shamrocks led 2-8 to 0-1 at half-time.

Shamrocks made a number of substitutions for the second half and took a while to get going again. Lisgoold scored their only goal mid way through and this shook the lads out of our slumber. They went on to score 1-5 without reply to ease to victory. Good performances all round but plenty to work on as well.

Thank you to Lisgoold for travelling as this was initially a home game for them but they agreed to switch as Shamrocks had a numbers problem on the original date.

Shamrocks had an excellent support again today and thanks to all. The next 3 games are Hurling League and texts/ Whats-apps will follow.
