The Shamrocks under 10 footballers had a comprehensive win at home against Sliabh Rua in the league on Saturday 1st April. This was the boys first outing with the big ball this season and they carried on where they left off last year at this age bracket by showing a great work rate and attitude on the field. Even though the team haven’t had a football game since the end of last years season in October, there was no sign of it from the Shamrocks under 10’s. It has to be said that the time spent in Academy training every Friday night over the winter is paying dividends for this age group. There’s already a sharpness to their play that you might expect only after a couple of competitive matches.
We’re lucky to have strong numbers at under 10 and we had 18 players togged out against Sliabh Rua, this was helped by the addition of a number of our under 8 players who arrived after a morning spent at their own successful under 8 blitz. We played thirteen a side and all players got plenty of game time. Next outing for the under 10’s is an away football match against our near neighbors Passage on Tuesday night 4th April at 6.30pm. Players are asked to be at Passage GAA grounds for 6pm.
