JFL V Valley Rovers – 19/4

Shamrocks 2 – 10  Valley Rovers 1 – 9

The Club’s Junior Footballers collected another brace of valuable League points at Shanbally on Sunday last with a merited win over Valley Rovers from Innishannon.   A handful of Under 21 players who were involved in championship the previous day took part and acquitted themselves quite well.

The visitors possessed some fine footballers who by their skills and play demonstrated that they have operated on high levels in the past,  Credit our lads, they were up for the test and we experienced a very close and worthwhile game.    Goals win games, and we converted two beauties, a first half strike from Sean Courtney and second half one from Darragh O’Sullivan.
They came at the right time and instilled security in to our lads play.

We had to withstand a telling final ten minutes when the visitors set up camp in our half recording 1 -3 to bring them within striking distance, but the clock was not on their side.
It was good stuff for the Month of March and the Mentors can feel happy that things are beginning to move in the right direction.
