Shamrocks 2-7, Courcey Rovers 1-8
Goals win games and two smashing finishes by Roy Twomey and Darragh O’Sullivan in the second half of this keenly contested league tie ensured a vital win.
This game, played in blustery conditions was an end to end affair with plenty of honest endeavour from many of the youngsters on both sides. The team, led by their outstanding Captain, Barry Mulqueen, gave of their best in difficult conditions and never yielded.
Courceys led 0-4 to 0-2 at the break and despite drawing level twice in the second half we could never go ahead. On the 30th minute we did go ahead when Darragh O’Sullivan hit a mighty goal and it was “game set and match”. Well done to all the players who turned out and rendered the Club its first league win in 2017.
