Shamrocks 5-13, Lee Gaels 2-8
Shamrocks minor footballers have qualified for a final after this drama filled win over Lee Gaels on Monday evening in Ballygarvan.
Shamrocks led by 3-9 to 0-1 at HT after a scintillating and dominating performance in the first half. It was one way traffic and it was a case of how much Shamrocks would win by. They scored early and often and enjoyed almost the entire possession of the ball.
The first 20 minutes of the second half were the polar opposite. Lee Gaels dominated and attacked at will. Shamrocks went out of the game totally and Gaels had their tails up. They brought the scoreline back to 3-9 to 2-6 with 13 minutes left but Shamrocks scored a badly needed goal on the break thereafter and that gave them a bit of a cushion to control the game until the end.
