Shamrocks 1-13, Lisgoold 2-9
A brilliant game of football went Shamrocks way on Monday night in Whitescross and as a result, they now find themselves in the final of the competition.
Lisgoold were very tough opponents and looked all set at HT as they led by 2-6 to 0-3 and were very dangerous especially in the forwards. They played with the hill and Shamrocks did well to be only that 9 points down at HT, 2-6 to 0-3.
Shamrocks needed a big performance in the second half and twn minutes in, there was still 9 points in it. However, Shamrocks were beginning to get on top and started to feed their forwards after some changes. They got a boost of a goal and tipped away at the points. Entering the last 5 minutes, the gap was down to 3 points, then 2, then 1 and finally Shamrocks equalised entering injury time. It was pulsating stuff now entering the final minute of injury time and Shamrocks broke up the field and scored the winning point from a free to send them into the final against St Vincents, a final which is fixed for September 10th. A great team performance and well done to all involved and to the large travelling support of parents and siblings.
