Our under 10 footballers had another successful evening in the football league last Wednesday night in Shanbally against Sliabh Rua. This result leaves them unbeaten in the league and was their third football victory in a row. The Sliabh Rua lads had also been unbeaten up to this match and we had expected this game to be the toughest challenge we had faced so far.
The game started with our boys seeing most of the ball, but scores initially seemed to be hard to come by. Once the boys found their range the scores came thick and fast to leave Shamrocks with a commanding lead at half time. Sliabh Rua played with the advantage of the hill in the second half, but they failed to capitalize on it and they never really got the ball beyond our defense. Some more well taken scores ensured Shamrocks won comfortably in the end. Our Under 10’s will go on during the month of September to play both Kilbrittain and Kinsale in football. We’ll be hoping our good run continues.
