Shamrocks 1-11, Valley Rovers 0-7
Truly great night for Shamrock Football where we had a team with a mission and full of purpose. They were fully focused on winning and led throughout the contest.
They made light of the consistent rain and poor underfoot conditions and their team work and great disciplined support play ensured that the Innishannon side would not take this one.
Having led 0-7 to 0-4 they started the second half containing a determined effort by their opponents. A quick piece of interplay between full forward Brian Sweeney and Roy Twomey saw the latter score a brilliant goal to shore up a good lead going into the final quarter.
This was a fifteen man effort where every player can take a bow and the three substitutes introduced all dovetailed into the cut and trust of the game instantly.
Well done to all concerned and no doubt the preparatory work and unbeaten run in the league created a serious team
