JAHL V Courcey Rovers – 6/4

Courcey Rovers 3-14, Shamrocks 0-8

As the score suggests this was a game dominated by the visitors on a wet cold night where prevailing ground conditions were poor. Courceys fielded an experienced side that took the elements and conditions in their stride and despite some fine Shamrock efforts early on, were always likely to win.
At halftime Courceys led 1-7 to 0 -1.

Shamrocks hoped for better in the second half with the wind in their favour. It was Courceys who lifted their game and were in a commanding lead with nine minutes to go when Shamrocks were registering their first second half score. Shamrocks finished in a higher gear scoring six points in the remaining eight minutes.

Shamrocks fielded a rather youthful sided and this experience will surely benefit them going forward. As opposition, Courceys will always be a good yardstick.
