The final local u8 Hurling blitz took place in Ballinhassig this morning. 20 players togged out – easily our best turnout of the year.
Unfortunately, an uneven number of teams turned up and we were only able to field one team.
We split the numbers and played 2 different teams each half of the 3 games.
We played Crosshaven, Carrigaline and Ballinhassig.
Those in attendance will surely agree that the game against Ballinhassig was one or their sporting highlights of the year!
A tremendous game where all players got a game at some stage and the result was a draw.
We have some fine talent coming through and with good coaching we will have strong, competitive teams in the years ahead.
Special mention to Shane O’Donovan, who managed one of the teams, and to Stephen Keane who refereed most of the games.
We had our best support of the year and they did not let the lads down – thank you to all.
