The South East Cork Board staged the Annual Inter County Under 15 Hurling Tournament for the Ted Hanley Memorial Cup, at Liam McCarthy Park, Ballygarvan on Saturday August 29th. Waterford, Cork, Limerick Clare and Tipperary participated and after some great games of Hurling, Cork deservedly defeated Tipperary in the Final 0-12 to 0-6.
This win was a big boost for Cork Under age hurling and we can, hopefully, look forward to seeing some of these lads wearing the County colours at higher grades later on.
Eddie Hanley presented the cup to the winning Cork Captain. The Tournament was first played in 1996.
Representing Shamrocks at the Tournament were, Pat O’Neill, Patrick Andrews, John Twomey, John Hanley and his brother Eddie. The Ballygarvan Club are to be complimented for the hosting the competition.
