Shamrocks 2-11, Tracton 1-11
Shamrocks won this replay simply because they were the better team.
Despite kicking seven wides in the first ten minutes and allowing Tracton to then go into a three point lead, they recouped and in a six minute spell recorded 1-3 to go ahead.
Then we just threw away that lead again and it took a great solo effort from centre back Chris O’Neill to see us go into the break with a one point advantage.
The second half saw some of the best in our team and some of the worst. Some great episodes were often cancelled by poor and sloppy play. If the team can eradicate some of the shortcomings, then they can be serious contenders for the title.
Again the spirit and the will to win was as good as in the drawn game. Well done to all the lads and the Selectors. The semi final game is scheduled for week ending
July 25th verses either Courcey Rovers.
