Club Ciarán 2015 – Day 3

With splendid weather in the offing and a full turnout of participants we has another perfect day.
Visitors were a big part of the day with Cork Hurling star Alan Cadogan calling in. His affable and endearing manner made him a huge favourite with the boys and girls and he was well tested with a huge range of questions. Alan was well up to the challenge and his prudent remarks and advice were well received all round. We wish Alan and his Cork team mates every success in their big game at Wexford Park next Saturday evening.

We were very pleased to welcome Mary Hegarty, mother of the late Kieran, her sister Jennie and her daughter Susan. The title ‘Club Ciaran’ honours his memory, a player who will never be forgotten.

Two people who deserve special mention for their huge input is Club Chairman Pat McCarthy who is charged with the issuing of hurleys and helmets and of course their recovery. In the kitchen, Deirdre has been tremendous and catered so well with the huge numbers of callers who were delighted with the fine fare on offer.

The penultimate day awaits us.
