Shamrocks hosted the latest Carrigdhoun Football blitz this morning.
It was a perfect morning for football and this was borne out by the number of teams who entered.
Shamrocks has a good mix of young and old boys and as it was our first morning together, we weren’t sure what to expect.
What we got was tremendous displays in all 3 matches played.
We won all our games against Ballygarvan, Passage and Tracton.
What was most pleasing was the performance of the younger lads ( we had some aged 5 and 6 years) who were brave and fearless against bigger and older opponents.
The older lads lead by example and we got some fantastic scores in all games.
Overall, most encouraging.
A special word of mention to the parents, grandparents and siblings who turned up in great numbers.
Also, thanks to Stephen and Brendan (our nominated referee!) for their assiatance this morning.
